New in GrowByData Compass: Four Comprehensive Reports for Amazon Competitor Analysis

Compass Amazon Analytics Benchmark Banner

Amazon competitor analysis is now built into GrowByData Compass. Under Marketplace > Amazon, four new reports show which brands lead Amazon search for the keywords you track, whether Organic results or Ads put them there, and how their listings, merchandising and ad titles compare with yours.

The blended share of voice number tells you who is visible. The placement breakdown helps explain how they got there.

What’s in the new Amazon reports?

GrowByData Compass now includes four Amazon reports under Marketplace > Amazon: Amazon Competitive Landscape, Amazon Listing Insights, Amazon Merchandising Insights and Amazon Ad Title Insights. Each one answers a different competitive question. As of October 2026, the Marketplace section covers Amazon only.

Report The question it answers
Amazon Competitive Landscape Who leads Amazon search, and through which placement?
Amazon Listing Insights What do the most visible products look like?
Amazon Merchandising Insights How do brands compare on price, reviews and shipping?
Amazon Ad Title Insights How are competitors wording their Amazon ads?

The reports share a common set of filters, including location, device, brand or non-brand keywords, category and holiday, plus a date range.

Amazon Competitive Landscape: Who leads, and Through Which Placement

The Amazon Competitive Landscape report shows each brand’s share of voice and average rank across your tracked Amazon keywords, with trends from daily to yearly. Share of voice is how much of those search results a brand holds. Compass breaks it down by placement, including Organic results, Sponsored Products and Sponsored Display.

That breakdown matters because Sponsored Products are paid per click (Amazon Ads), and Amazon’s own top-of-search impression share only covers your own campaigns (Amazon Ads). Compass shows the whole results page, competitors included.

ASICS: up 463.8% in Sponsored Products, outside the organic top 10

In the GrowByData Retail Industry Panel (Amazon.com, August 25 to September 23, 2026), ASICS’s overall share of voice rose 68.9% on the previous period, to 0.28%. On that number alone, ASICS looks like a brand gaining ground across Amazon.

The placement view shows where the gain came from. ASICS’s Sponsored Products share of voice rose 463.8% to 0.63%, fourth among Sponsored Products leaders. In organic results, ASICS didn’t make the top 10.

If you compete with ASICS, that changes your response. When a gain comes mainly from Sponsored Products, optimizing your organic listings alone may not address it. A few more weeks of trend data will show whether it was a promotion or a sustained paid push.

Listings, Merchandising and Ad titles

The other three reports cover what happens once a product appears in the results.

Amazon Listing Insights shows the products that appear most often in your tracked searches, with price, star rating and review count. In the same panel, 13 of the 100 most-listed products were magic kits, all priced between $17.60 and $42.00 and rated 4.4 stars or higher. That’s the benchmark you want before you price a launch.

Amazon Merchandising Insights compares brands on price, star ratings, reviews and shipping offers. It also flags tracked keywords where a brand has no listing at all, which can explain a competitor’s visibility in a way rank can’t.

Amazon Ad Title Insights looks at the wording in Amazon ad titles: which terms most advertisers in a category use, which only a few brands use, how long titles run, and when messaging changes. If you already work on Google Shopping product title optimization, the same thinking applies.

How teams can use the reports for Amazon competitor analysis

The Amazon reports let agencies and brand teams run Amazon competitive reviews the same way every time, with the same competitors, keywords, filters and date ranges. That makes month-to-month changes easier to explain to a client or a CFO.

  • Quarterly business reviews: benchmark a brand against named competitors and export the tables into the deck.
  • Paid versus organic budget calls: show your paid search director whether a competitor’s jump came from Sponsored Products, Sponsored Display or organic results.
  • Holiday reads: use the holiday filter to check whether a Prime Day shift held after the event.
  • Launches and coverage gaps: pull price and rating norms before launch, and find tracked keywords where your brand has no listing.

Two cautions: compare share of voice within one category, not across categories, and don’t read it as sales. A brand can own the page and still lose the sale on price, reviews or delivery speed.

Amazon next to Google, in one platform

GrowByData is a search and AI visibility intelligence company for enterprise brands, retailers and agencies. GrowByData Compass tracks Google results, SERP features, Google Shopping, Google AI Overviews, Google AI Mode, ChatGPT and Perplexity, and now Amazon search.

That puts Amazon next to the Google Share of Voice and competitive SERP analysis you may already run, so you can see how a competitor shows up on both for the same product line.
