GrowByData is looking for an experienced DBA/DevOps to join the Team! The individual will be responsible to work throughout the full cloud infrastructure, including design, architecture, communication, monitoring, availability, scaling, fail over, and recovery. S/he will be also responsible for the maintenance, integrity, and security of the database.
Requirements
- Three years’ work experience in a DBA role
- Good knowledge of distributed database systems
- Experience working with AWS infrastructure
- Advance knowledge of SQL
- Intermediate expertise in at least one of the following scripting techniques
- Power Shell, Shell Scripts, Python
- Excellent system-level thinking and the ability to move up and down the stack
- Extensive knowledge of networking and security best practices
- Experience with data warehousing patterns would be great
- Knowledge of data pipeline tools would be a plus point
- Programming experiences would be preferred
- Willingness to work off-hours preferred
Responsibilities
- Maintain RDS/MySQL, SQL Server and Redshift databases in AWS, working with engineering team
- Design capacity plans based on predicted growth for different database systems
- Assess Redshift cluster on an ongoing basis and suggest appropriate scaling measures based on different needs emerge over time, selecting cluster type, optimal number of nodes, etc.
- Implement contingency and disaster recovery plan to ensure availability and integrity of the database systems
- Work with IT/security team to ensure least privilege access for all our data assets
- Develop and maintain automated scripts to automate as much of maintenance as possible using AWS native tools
- Perform ongoing monitoring of resource usage in different database systems and perform and/or suggest appropriate course of actions
- Assist in tuning of SQL queries
- Assist DevOps resources in the infrastructure team for the administration of overall cloud environment
Education: Minimum B.E Computer Science, Information Science or equivalent experience: Prior three plus year experience in a relevant field would be preferred and favorable.The right candidate will be looking for not just a new job, but a stellar career with our growing company.
